What is FRP?
Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer (FRP) is a lightweight, high-strength alternative to traditional materials like stone or concrete. With a minimum wall thickness of 3/16″, our FRP cornice moldings are engineered to be among the strongest and most durable in the architectural industry.
Because fiberglass is lightweight, it reduces the need for costly structural reinforcement, unlike heavier options such as stone or GFRC. This translates to major savings on engineering, materials, and installation time.
Each cornice is manufactured with a marine-grade gel coat finish, available in standard white or custom-matched colors — including stone-like textures. Many of our products ship pre-finished and ready to install, lowering labor costs and reducing your project’s carbon footprint.
At Architectural Mall, we specialize in both standard and custom fiberglass cornice profiles. Whether you’re replicating a historic design or creating something new, we can manufacture to your exact specifications — without sacrificing authenticity or increasing cost. Custom pricing is typically in line with our standard options.
How is FRP Cornice Made?
Every custom fiberglass cornice we produce begins with a collaborative design process. We work directly with architects, designers, and builders to determine exact specifications and project requirements. Once finalized, we use our in-house CNC technology to create detailed molds — even for large profiles — while preserving the most intricate architectural details.
After programming and cutting, the molds are reinforced with fiberglass and carefully polished to prevent surface imperfections from transferring to the final product. Each mold is then coated with a marine-grade white gel coat or a custom-specified finish, followed by multiple layers of chopped fiberglass and resin.
We use high-end chopper systems to ensure uniformity and strength, and all cornices are cured in heated environments to meet our strict quality standards. Once cured, each piece is removed from the mold, cleaned, polished, inspected, and prepared for shipping — ready for a smooth installation at your jobsite.
What are the Benefits of FRP Cornice?
Our FRP cornice is manufactured with 35–40% fiberglass content, making it pound-for-pound stronger than steel while remaining lightweight and easy to install. This strength-to-weight ratio makes it ideal for both new construction and restoration projects where structural load matters.
We offer several standard cornice profiles, all of which can be fully customized to meet your design requirements — whether you’re matching historic details or creating something modern. Every cornice comes with a factory-applied marine-grade white gel coat, and we also offer a wide range of pre-finished colors and textures.
For projects requiring fire safety compliance, we can provide a Class A fire rating upon request. Best of all, every fiberglass cornice we manufacture is backed by a limited lifetime warranty, giving you confidence in its durability and long-term performance.
